In December 2004 Heerema Zwijndrecht received the contract award for the Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Installation of the Integrated Production Deck (IPD) and the Gravity Bases Substructure (GBS) for the ‘De Ruyter platform by Dana Petroleum (previously Petro Canada Nederland). The IPD was constructed at HFG’s yard in Zwijndrecht. The GBS was subcontracted and fabricated by Dubai Drydocks. The platform was installed during the summer of 2006 in the Dutch Sector of the North Sea, at the P11b field by HMC’s Thialf.

Detailed engineering of the De Ruyter platform, within the scope of HFG, has been subcontracted to Iv-Oil & Gas. The Integration Production Deck (IPD) consists of five levels, including accommodation for 33 personnel.
Early June 2006 the deck sailed out of HFG’s yard in Zwijndrecht and was installed offshore end of June 2006.

The wellbay and main lattice towers were constructed at Hereema’s yard in Vlissingen. Both these towers were assembled to the gravity base structure. The main lattice tower supports the integrated production deck.

Heerema Fabrication Group as main contractor was responsible for the overall project management, including fabrication, mechanical completion, commissioning, offshore transport and offshore hookup.
